Repercussions from Growing Up All Boy!!

Repercussions from Growing Up All Boy!!

If you read my last post about the worms, this one picks up right around the same time in my life — and it's just as good.

I remember going to Vacation Bible School at Pine Grove Baptist Church. After playtime, refreshments were served, and Mrs. Odell Huneycutt — one of the elders of our church, and a lady I truly loved — came up to me with the sweetest smile and said, "Honey, here, I got you some cookies to take home with you. Just put them in your pockets."

I started crying.

She looked alarmed and said, "No, no, honey — your mommy will let you have them, and we have plenty!"

I said, "No ma'am, that's not it... I can't put them in my pockets."

Mrs. Odell went straight to my momma and asked if she had sewed my pockets shut. My momma said, "I sure did. I got tired of getting hoppy toads and lizards out of my washing machine. That boy will put anything in his pockets, so I sewed them shut."

No cookies for me.

Mrs. Odell told that story every single time she saw me — right up until the time she passed away. I always loved that lady. She had a way of making even the most embarrassing moments feel like treasures worth keeping.

Growing up all boy had its repercussions... but it also made for some pretty good stories.

And those stories are a big part of why we started Big PaPaw Soap — because good things are made by people with a past worth telling. If you've never tried a bar of real beef tallow soap, we'd love for you to give it a shot — or at least a look.

We make our soap the same way Big PaPaw lived — the old-fashioned way, with nothing to hide and nothing to prove. Real beef tallow, natural ingredients, and a little Southern soul in every bar.

If you grew up getting into trouble, you deserve a good bar of soap 🧴

🌲 Mountain Fresh Tallow Soap — Clean, crisp, and built for real life.

🔥 Smoky Barn Tallow Soap — A little rugged, a lot of character.

🧴 Classic Clean Tallow Soap — Simple, pure, and just right.
